What is image alt text and why does it matter for SEO?
Alt text (alternative text) is a written description of an image in your page's HTML. Search engines cannot see images - they read alt text to understand what an image shows, which supports image search rankings and overall on-page SEO. It also makes your site accessible to users who rely on screen readers, which is increasingly a legal requirement in many markets.
How many images can I process at once?
Up to 10 images at once using the Batch CSV option. Each row in your CSV represents one image. For single images, use the URL input or file upload. The CSV template is available to download directly from the tool.
How many alt texts can I generate per day?
You can generate up to 5 alt texts per day for free, with no account required. Each generation counts as one use whether it is a single image or a batch of 10 - so a batch CSV gives you the best value per generation. The daily limit resets at midnight. If you need to process larger volumes, get in touch and we can discuss a tailored solution.
Are my images stored or saved after generation?
No. Images processed via URL are fetched temporarily for analysis and not stored anywhere. Files you upload are read directly in your browser and never sent to or saved on any server. Your images remain entirely private.
Which languages are supported?
11 languages: English, Thai, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and Arabic. Language selection is available in Advanced Options after entering your email.
What is the suggested filename and how do I use it?
The suggested filename is an SEO-friendly name for your image file based on its content. Renaming your image files before uploading them to your website helps search engines index them correctly and improves image search rankings.
Can I use this for e-commerce product images?
Yes. Advanced Options include fields for product name, brand, and colour variant. The AI uses this context to generate more precise, commercially relevant alt text - referencing the specific product and brand rather than describing the image generically. You can also include SEO keywords to weave into the output.
